The red suitcase

If you have to put the most important things you have in a suitcase that you could plant next to your main door, hoping you never have to carry it and run away and maybe never come back . What would you put in it?

The red suitcase is a documentation and installation, exhibited in January 2020 at Kobeissi’s apartment in Munich. Kobeissi during the israeli july war on Lebanon in 2006 , had to suddenly leave her apartment with her family after that her neighborhood was under rockets attack. They did not have the chance to pack anything.

August 2013, a series of suicidal bombs invading the southern suburb of Beirut, Kobeissi, on one hot summer afternoon, wearing only underwear, witnesses the first bomb from her balcony, two block away from her building. Under the shock, she runs the stairs down almost naked, while her mom, who survived the lebanese civil war, was laughing at her. Kobeissi now has collected experience, she then collected everything she thought and was sure she will need for her survival, in a red suitcase.
